Cambelt Timing Marks

Just a few pictures to show correct timing for the Z20LEH engine (also applies to the Z20LET, Z20LEL and Z20LER engines).

With the timing marks lined up at TDC the camshaft pullies are locked in place using a camshaft locking tool prior to replacing the belt, when the new belt is fitted and during the tensioning procedure. When everything is correctly tensioned the locking tool is removed and the engine turned through 2 full revolutions, after which time the timing marks and belt tensioned is checked again:

Correct belt tension (for a new belt) shown by the pointer aligned with the cut-out, checked after 2 full revolutions of the engine via crankshaft bottom pulley, and the timing markes checked again:
